A Touch of Sunlight

We visited about 5-6 waterfalls on this trip to the UP. They ranged in height from 6-8 inches to about 150 feet. I have never been good at capturing the whole falls; much better at smaller pieces. I was attracted to the10:00 light; it was very warm.

This series was shot in the part of Michigan that borders Lake Superior….the “UP”. This image was shot on our way to scouting a couple of different lakes. This is a composite of two shots; the light was hard to find.

This image was shot yesterday at the Morton Arboretum, outside of Chicago. The leaf color was not excellent but I was playing around with back lighting through the leaves and caught this with HDR.

Shot the same frosty morning as the leaf image. It was very hard to isolate the background so that the bud remained the main object. I was also surprised how few buds were in somewhat pristine condition.
