This barn draws photographers like moths to a flame. At dawn, it was almost a spiritual experience. This image was a composite of multiple exposures due to the broad variance in light between the sky and the foreground.

I shot this in HDR with 6 exposures. The water was calm and the stars were bright.

This was shot on a bridge that spans the Chicago River. i could only shoot when there were no cars crossing.

This image of Lake Michigan was sot a few miles from my house. It is very hard to get good images in the winter due to the ice accumulation on the shore.
