Last weekend I shot at the Botanic Garden for 3 days in a row. This is another HDR rendition. I am finally finding that Photomatix is becoming my friend.

This was shot at the Tetons in Wyoming. We were hiking up to Tagget Lake and passed through a forrest that was only a few years old, We could see the lone sentinels of the prior stand of trees,

Last week I went up to the Garden to patrol for some good dawn shots. It was cold and overcast. The best I could do was catch this road to the east with a glimmer of dawn. What looks like headlights is my headlamp illuminating the snow. God, it was cold!

I went up to the Garden and was expecting heavy fog at dawn. The only thing foggy was my breath as I slogged through the heavy wet snow, I only ended up taking 5 exposures for all that work!

I was visiting one of my best friends in Salt Lake City and he took me to one of his favorite places to watch a sunrise in the mountains. As the sun broke the horizon, the frozen dew shimmered everywhere. The only sound we heard was our breathing and the calls of the ravens,

I was introduced to this place by my birder friends, It is about 40-50 miles north of Chicago. I have shot here 3 times this year. In the dark it can get a smidge scary: I keep thinking some Gigantisorus is going to come out of the muck and chomp me.

This is the view at Christmas when entering the Chicago Botanic Garden. I remember jumping to the side a few times so I would not get hit by a car.
